North Carolina State Health Director's Standing Orders for Pharmacists

House Bill 96 Standing Orders - SL2021-110

NCAP experienced the best legislative Session ever after the close of 2021.   Due to the involvement of our members, NCAP staff, Board of Directors, lobbying, and advocacy teams, the Association has positioned itself as THE VOICE for pharmacy in North Carolina.

Born out of our efforts in 2021, Governor Cooper signed House Bill 96 into law on August 20th, 2021, allowing pharmacists to provide hormonal contraceptives, tobacco cessation, HIV prevention, prenatal vitamins, and glucagon. In addition, medication administration was expanded to self-administered injectable drugs, including long-acting injectables.

NCAP is committed to providing pharmacists with the training, resources, and information you’ll need in preparing for this new scope of practice. Below represents a highlight of activities with sample content we hope you find helpful as you contemplate establishing service models in your practice.
