Description: Multiple sclerosis is a central nervous system demyelinating disease that can cause a range of disability for persons affected. Autoimmune attacks on the brain, spinal cord, or optic nerves may lead to symptoms such as problems with vision, arm or leg movement, spasticity, sensation, and balance. With no cure for multiple sclerosis available, this program will highlight medications used as disease-modifying therapies intended to prevent further clinical flares and slow progression to disability.
