This session will describe 3 novel approaches to enhance the effectiveness of medication safety meetings. The appreciative inquiry approach to promote a safety culture, the role of storytelling to enhance desired behavioral changes, and the role of a Patient Safety Organization to protect sensitive quality and safety data are novel approaches that can revitalize medication safety meetings that have used only traditional methods of error review and statistics.
